The Black Dino Ranger, also known as Tommy Oliver, is a prominent character in the Power Rangers franchise. He debuted in Power Rangers Dino Thunder as a paleontology professor and former Power Ranger.
Tommy's history is extensive. He began as the Green Ranger in Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, brainwashed by Rita Repulsa. After breaking free, he became the White Ranger and leader. He later served as the Zeo Ranger V Red, the Red Turbo Ranger, and ultimately, the Black Dino Ranger.
In Dino Thunder, Tommy mentors three high school students: Conner McKnight, Ethan James, and Kira Ford. After an accident, Tommy gains the ability to morph into the Black Dino Ranger, wielding the Brachio Staff. His experiences as a Power Ranger for so many years make him a great mentor to the others.
The Black Dino Ranger has appeared in other Power Rangers seasons such as Power Rangers Super Megaforce and Power Rangers Super Ninja Steel.
